Microsuction Ear Wax Removal
Microsuction is the gold standard in ear wax removal. This gentle and precise procedure uses a fine suction device under direct visualisation to safely remove wax and debris.
It’s quick, comfortable, and suitable for patients with ear conditions such as perforated eardrums, previous surgery, or recurrent infections. Most patients experience instant improvement in hearing and comfort.
Ear Irrigation
Ear irrigation, uses a gentle flow of warm water to clear softer wax build-up.
The clinician assesses suitability before treatment to ensure it’s the safest option for you. This traditional method can provide effective relief from blocked ears, muffled hearing, and pressure.
Ear Instrumentation
For wax or foreign material close to the outer ear canal, fine instruments such as probes or forceps are used under direct vision.
Instrumentation allows for precise removal when microsuction or irrigation are less suitable. It’s quick, effective, and performed in a controlled and safe environment.
Assessment of Non-Wax Ear Conditions

Appointments are professional, thorough, and unrushed. You’ll receive a full ear health assessment, with microsuction or irrigation if clinically appropriate. Everything is explained clearly before any procedure.
Most appointments take 20–30 minutes, depending on your needs and the type of treatment required.
Yes — when carried out by a trained clinician, microsuction is considered the safest and most effective method of wax removal. Your comfort and safety are always the priority.
The clinic provides care for adults and children over 5 years of age.
There is one fee of £65 which includes assessment and any required treatment during the same visit.
You will still receive a full ear assessment and clinical advice. The appointment fee remains the same, as the assessment itself is a key part of ensuring your ears are healthy.
To help ensure your ears are properly prepared and your procedure is both successful and as comfortable as possible, please apply medical-grade, sterilised olive oil to both ears twice a day for 4–5 days before your clinic appointment, if you can. For home-visit appointments, please apply it twice a day for one full week beforehand.
Written reports or letters can be provided for your GP when clinically appropriate.
Microsuction is generally not painful, and most people find it very comfortable. You may feel gentle pulling or a light suction sensation as the wax is removed, and the machine can sound a little loud, but it shouldn’t cause pain. If you ever feel any discomfort during the procedure, I will stop immediately and adjust the technique. Your safety and comfort are always the priority.
